Join us for a virtual Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program facilitated by LexisNexis. To receive one ethics credit from the program, attendees must be present for the entire class.

This class is tailored towards attorneys looking to gain Continuing Legal Education credit, but all DOC staff are welcome to attend.

The legal profession stands at the precipice of a transformative era driven by artificial intelligence (AI). This cutting-edge CLE course equips attorneys with a comprehensive understanding of AI's disruptive potential and its profound implications for the practice of law. Through an in-depth exploration of AI terminology, historical evolution, and the latest generative models, participants will gain invaluable insights into the technological foundations reshaping the legal landscape.

Delving into the impact of generative AI, the course illuminates groundbreaking use cases poised to revolutionize legal research, analysis, document drafting, and workflow optimization. Attorneys will discover how these advanced systems can augment their capabilities, driving efficiencies and enabling them to focus on higher-level strategic work. Crucially, the course addresses the ethical considerations and governance frameworks essential for responsible AI integration, including mitigating risks related to bias, transparency, privacy, and accountability.

With a forward-looking perspective, the course examines the rapidly evolving regulatory landscape surrounding AI, both domestically and internationally. Participants will gain a nuanced understanding of existing and proposed regulations aimed at fostering innovation while safeguarding individual rights and upholding the rule of law. By proactively navigating this AI-augmented future, attorneys can harness the transformative potential of these technologies while upholding the noble principles that have long guided the legal profession.

LexisNexis seeks credit based on the content, but the type of credit allowed is determined by the state governing MCLE Board. Please note that approval of a course is at the discretion of each state bar.
